So, what is the Arctic IoT Challenge (ARIoT)? In short, it is a three-day competition/hackathon/conference fusion, focusing on the Internet of Things (IoT).
We expect you to compete, and to do so with determination. There is no prize money to be won, though, but the finalists will get some prizes, and the winner will get a magnificent trophy, alongside honour and glory.
We are not a typical 24-hour hackathon. The competition lasts for three days, and we expect participants to put down their work and join the rest for common activities, like presentations, quiz, open discussion, lunch etc.
We are not a traditional conference. But still, there will be presentations, and lightning talks from the teams. Our goal is that you learn from solving your problems in collaboration with your team, and with help from other teams.
#ariot19 aims to stimulate collaborative learning, networking and stimulation of ideas for participants through hands-on, time-limited challenges. We are competitive, yet helpful and sharing (also across teams), realizing that collective learning is more important than personal gain.
Even though we don't expect this to be an issue, we're just making sure that you know: ARIoT is dedicated to providing a harassment-free conference experience for everyone, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, or religion. We do not tolerate harassment of conference participants in any form. Sexual language and imagery is not appropriate for any conference venue, including talks. Conference participants violating these rules may be sanctioned or expelled from the conference without a refund at the discretion of the conference organizers.
